SafeKept started with one family's experience settling a grandparent's estate. It took 18 months. It should have taken a few weeks. So we built what did not exist.
Our Story
When our founder lost his grandmother, what came after the funeral was something nobody had prepared for.
Banks that would not speak to the family without probate. A pension that took six months to find because nobody knew which provider held it. Subscriptions still charging a closed account months later. A will that took weeks to locate because it was stored somewhere nobody thought to look.
The estate took 18 months to settle. It should have taken a few weeks.
We looked at what already existed. Services that only notify banks. Platforms built for other countries and adapted badly for the UK. Nothing that started before death. Nothing that connected the family, the solicitor and the accountant in one place. Nothing that covered the full picture - not just banks, but utilities, pensions, mobile networks, subscriptions and everything else a modern life contains.
